Privacy Policy

DB Scanner · Updated 18 October 2026

DB Scanner keeps your documents on your device. This policy explains exactly what that means.

Who we are

DB Scanner is published by Dashrath Bharat Square Technology Private Limited (“DB Square Technology”, “we”), India. This policy explains how the app handles your information.

Your documents stay on your device

Scans, imported photos and PDFs, recognised text, signatures and folders are stored only in DB Scanner’s storage on your device. They are never uploaded to us or to anyone else. We do not run servers that receive your documents.

No account, no tracking, no ads

DB Scanner has no sign-in, no advertising and no analytics. We do not collect, sell or share personal information, and the app does not track you across other apps or websites.

Camera and photos

The camera is used only while you scan. Photos you pick in the system photo picker are copied into the app; DB Scanner cannot see the rest of your library. Saving pages to Photos uses add-only access.

Text recognition

Marathi, Hindi and English text is recognised on your device using Google ML Kit’s on-device model. Images are processed locally and are not sent to Google or to us.

Privacy Mask

When you share with Privacy Mask, Aadhaar, PAN, card and account numbers found on your device are blacked out in the shared copy. Detection happens on your device; your saved document is not changed.

Files app

If “Show in Files App” is on, a PDF copy of each document is kept in the app’s folder on your device so you can open it from the Files app. You can turn this off in Settings, which removes the copies.

Sharing

A document leaves your device only when you share, print or export it yourself, and only to the destination you choose.

Backups and deletion

Your data may be included in your own device backups (such as iCloud Backup) if you have them turned on. Deleted documents stay in Recently Deleted for 30 days, then are removed permanently. Deleting the app removes everything it stored.

Children

DB Scanner does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published in the app and on our website with a new date.
